ND Department of Agriculture Press ReleasesFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 15, 2008 PRIDE OF DAKOTA WHOLESALE GIFT SHOW SLATED BISMARCK – Pride of Dakota goes wholesale on Wednesday, April 23, when member companies will be offering their products to retail establishments at the 10th annual Pride of Dakota Wholesale Gift Show. “This is a great opportunity for companies who want to get their products into other stores,” said Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson. “At the same time, it is an opportunity for retailers to stock up on popular Pride of Dakota merchandise for the upcoming season.” Johnson said invitations have been sent to more than 500 retail buyers, including gift shops and tourist attractions, from North Dakota and elsewhere in the region.” The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Best Western Ramkota Inn, 800 S. Third St., Bismarck. The Pride of Dakota companies will display such products as gourmet foods and snack items, jewelry, wearing apparel, books, recordings, printed goods and gift items. Authorized by the Legislature and administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, the Pride of Dakota program fosters the development and growth of small businesses and especially businesses that are farm-based or rely on agricultural commodities. Pride of Dakota member companies can participate in cooperative promotion and marketing events; receive representation at local, state, regional, national, and international trade shows and educational opportunities.
