ND Department of Agriculture Press ReleasesFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 16, 2008 JOHNSON APPOINTS PHIL JALLO AS INSPECTOR BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson has appointed Phillip Jallo as an inspector for the Pesticide, Feed and Fertilizer Team in the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. "Phil has practical and technical knowledge of pesticides, feeds and fertilizers from working on his family’s dairy farm,” Johnson said. “His understanding and background will be useful as he works with producers to ensure that pesticides are properly stored and applied.” A native of Fordville, Jallo attended Minot State University-Bottineau and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Crookston with a degree in natural resource management. A certified pesticide applicator, he has worked two years at the North Dakota Game and Fish Department as a seasonal wildlife aide. In his new position, Jallo will conduct routine inspections and investigations of farms, ranches, dealers, distributors and manufacturers, related to the sale, distribution and use of pesticides. He will also inspect feed and fertilizer manufacturers, distributors and dealers to ensure their products are properly registered.
