LIVESTOCK PRODUCERS URGED TO TAKE ACTION

BISMARCK – The North Dakota State Board of Animal Health is urging livestock producers to take immediate action to ensure the safety of their animals.

“The early spring storm moving across the state is potentially more severe than first thought,” said Dr. Susan Keller, state veterinarian. “Producers need to get their animals into sheltered areas and to make sure they have adequate feed, water and bedding.”

Keller said cold damp conditions, combined with significant snowfall and blizzard conditions, can be very dangerous for livestock, especially now in calving season.
