FARGO HOLIDAY SHOWCASE OPENS EARLY WITH "SNEAK PEEK"

BISMARCK – Fargo-area shoppers can get a “sneak peek” at the Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase, when it returns to the Fargo Civic Memorial Auditorium, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 20-22.

“We will open the Holiday Showcase from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday,” said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “This will give shoppers some extra time to make some of their purchases.”

Goehring said more than half of the Holiday Showcase vendors will participate in the “sneak peek.”

The weekend hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. Admission is $2 per adult.

“More than 150 booths will be filled with Pride of Dakota products, including foods and condiments, books, jewelry, recordings, decorative and gift items,” Goehring said.

Showcase patrons will again receive a free reusable bag with their paid admission. Shoppers who bring their own reusable bags receive $1 off their admission.

The reusable bag giveaway is sponsored by the Bank of North Dakota and Great River Energy.

Goehring said Sunday entertainment at the Showcase includes the Hillsboro Just for Kix dance studio at 2 p.m. and musician Sheri Breznay at 3 p.m.

The next Holiday Showcase is scheduled for Dec. 4-6, in the Bismarck Civic Center Exhibition Hall, Bismarck.

Authorized by the State Legislature and administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, the Pride of Dakota program offers member companies opportunities to participate in cooperative promotion and marketing events, representation at local, state, regional, national, and international trade shows and educational opportunities. More than 430 North Dakota companies are current members.
