North Dakota Farmers Market MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE UPCOMING FARMERS MARKET CONFERENCE!
Annual Farmers' Market Conference Our guest speaker this year is Richard McCarthy of the Crescent City Farmers Market in New Orleans. Richard McCarthy IV is a New Orleans native. Co founder and Executive
Director of marketumbrella.org, Richard received his bachelor's degree
in international relations from Richmond College in London and his master's
degree from the London School of Economics. An avid food fanatic and
gardener, Richard is a vegetarian. He also has a passion for Italian
motor scooters, and skateboarding. He is married to Bonnie Goldblum and
father of daughter Beatrix. Pledged to sharing technical expertise, Richard
frequently travels to assist communities in the planning and execution
of projects like farmers' markets. In 2002, he led a small team to participate
in the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development in South
Africa (and the preperatory meetings in Indonesia). He serves as on the
advisory board of the Project for Public Space's Public Market Collaborative,
and vice-chair to the North American Direct Farmers' Association's Farmers
Market Coalition's Council. We hope you can join us for a great conference in 2007! Please check out the website www.ndfarmersmarkets.com as we continue to post more conference information. Who should attend? Sessions will be of interest to all farmers’ market vendors: farmers,
producers of prepared food and crafts, market managers, farmers market
organizers and anyone active or interested in supporting local agriculture. Networking with Peers Gain knowledge on marketing your farm, craft or value-added products through use of local farmers’ market. Network with other successful farmers’ market vendors and managers. Conference times and agenda details TBD, please check back for more information |
